Terms And Conditions

Fitness Requirements:

- Participants should be of a suitable fitness level to complete the tour in a reasonable time. This will involve walking for 2-3hrs and paddling for 2-3hrs.

- Our maximum PFD chest size is 142cm and our maximum wetsuit size is XXL.

- A minimum weight of 30kg and a maximum weight of 136kg applies due to the limitations of our equipment.  If you are outside of this weight range please contact us for further information.

- If the personal protective equipment provided does not fit you will not be able to complete the tour and we will offer a full refund.

- If you provide your own personal protective equipment it must meet our safety standards otherwise you must use ours or not complete the tour.

- We require you to disclose any medical conditions to us at the time of booking. These may include, but are not limited to, the following:

Head Injury

Recent Surgeries

Neurological Disorders

Epilepsy

Dislocations or Fractures

Artificial or Damaged Limbs

Back Injuries

Heart Conditions

High Blood Pressure

Restricted Mobility

Diabetes

Severe Allergies

Vision Impairment

Hearing Impairment

Pregnancy

If in doubt whether a condition is relevant or will affect your ability to participate please get in touch.

- Our age-limits for different classes of whitewater are listed below:

Class II - Minimum age 8 years old. Under 14 year-olds must be accompanied 1:1 by a responsible adult (18+).

Class III - Minimum age 12 years old. Under 14 year- olds must be accompanied 1:1 by a responsible adult (18+).

Class IV - Minimum age 14 years old.

Please get in touch if over 65 years old as we will likely have further follow-up questions.

- For all trips it is recommended that participants are comfortable swimming in moving water

- For any trip on Class III whitewater and above participants must be able to swim 50m unaided.

- For any trip on Class IV whitewater West Coast Packrafting will require evidence of paddling competency prior to the trip and reserves the right to refuse the trip if the paddler does not meet competency requirements.

 

Cancellation Policy:

- West Coast Packrafting reserves the right to cancel the tour for any reason including, but not limited to, weather, river levels, guide availability. If cancelling West Coast Packrafting will offer participants the option of

a) rebooking the same tour at a different date,

b) participating in a similar tour on a river more suitable to the conditions or

c) a full refund.

Please ensure your contact details are correct for us to be able to contact you in case of the need to cancel.

- We operate under a 48-hour cancellation and amendment policy. Any booking that is cancelled or amended within 48 hours of departure will be charged in full. In the event that a medical condition prevents you from partaking in the activity, a medical certificate must be provided to obtain a refund.

- Bookings that are cancelled or amended outside of 48 hours prior to departure can be done so at no charge except for any associated card or booking fees that cannot be recouped by West Coast Packrafting.

- If booking online, you are responsible for ensuring your booking details are correct. If there has been an error with your booking the above cancellation policy applies.

- Refunds can only be processed through the payment method that your ticket item was paid through. Please note that a refund can take time to process.

- If for some reason a refund is required through an international bank account all additional charges will be passed onto the customer and deducted from the refund amount.

 

Suitability Policy:

- West Coast Packrafting will refuse to let clients participate in packrafting or hiking activities with no refund given if:

a) under the influence of drugs or alcohol (the only exception to this is on overnight trips where alcohol may be consumed after packrafting and hiking activities are concluded for the day, and not to an extent that will impair a participant during the next day's activities).

b) abusive or violent towards staff or other participants

c) they do not meet the fitness, medical or age requirements set out in these terms and conditions

d) they have not paid for the activity

 

Late arrivals:

- West Coast Packrafting requests that clients arrive with plenty of time to be prepared for the trip at the meeting time and recommend arriving a minimum of 20min before departure time.

- Please contact us if you are likely to be late and we will endeavour to accommodate you.

- If a participant is more than 15min late to the meeting point then the trip will proceed without them and no refund will be given. This is to ensure fairness to other participants booked on to the tour and to respect our staff's time.

 

Delayed Arrival:

West Coast Packrafting cannot guarantee a return time from this activity due to varying factors including, but not limited to, weather and river levels as well as participant numbers and fitness.

- We strongly recommend you do not have urgent appointments following one of our trips.

- For multi-day trips there may be delays of 24hrs or more due to weather events such as flooding.
